Artist Statement
Delta of Venus is a collection of seductive and luscious tales of erotica. I wanted to evoke the same feeling one might get from the text in the tactility of the binding. To do this I incorporated deep hues of Purple Heart against the richness of Walnut. In contrast to the hard wood is a bright fuchsia suede panel, a warm invitation to the rest of the text.

The Purple Heart tabs on the covers are cut to triangular shapes, as a reference to the letter 'V'. But I tend to view them as more of a dedication to the simplistic symbol often linked to the vagina.
