  1. If Only…

Okay so this If Only... is a two parter: if only I knew how to play the ukulele and if only I could afford one of Paul Celentano’s quirky, custom built instruments. Check out his shop at Etsy and see his instruments in action over on YouTube.

These t-shirt and necklace combos over at Luft und Liebe are so clever, offering simple designs animated by the movement of the wearer.

Ariele Alasko creates one-of-kind furniture and fixtures from 100% salvaged and recycled materials at her shop Brooklyn to West. This headboard is absolutely gorgeous, so understandably her pieces fly off the shelf. No worries she takes custom orders on her headboards and tables. This past summer Ariele finished “The Big Table“, watch the making in the video below.

Over at Piadesign, innovator and designer Pia Wüstenberg has been experimenting with a wide range of materials from glass to ceramic to wood to paper. Lately, she’s been glueing up layers upon layers of paper, which are then shaped into rings (used to create the vessels above), table legs and lighting fixtures by using a lathe. She then transforms ordinary home decor and furniture into wildly patterned and uniquely irregular objects. You can purchase some of her products over at Utopia & Utility.

To say that I love sunglasses is an understatement.  I would die for a pair of Karen Walker shades, especially the pair above from her Summer 2012 collection: Karen’s Little Aliens.

I’ve been ogling these wall mount hooks in the shapes of US States for months.  I want to buy one for every state that I’ve lived in (Nebraska, Illinois, California, Texas and Massachusetts).  You can choose from a wide range of colors for the base and hooks.  Check out the Etsy shop for Old New Again.

These dice letterpress print are extraordinary.  Who knew dice could withstand the pressure of a Vandercook.  Bryan Christopher Baker of Stukenborg Press is a printer living in Detroit who painstakingly arranged 520 die for each layer of the print posted above.  The shapes and pathways created by the dot pattern is both rhythmic and mesmerizing.  Jason and I already own two prints by Stukenborg and I’ve become continually enchanted by the ways Baker has reinvented the patterns and illusions of this work.

These whimsical and colorful animal statues from Good Machinery are irresistible.  I want to bring them all home.
