January 11, 2013 by Erin Fletcher

A visual interpretation of the life that sprouts from a whale’s death from Sweet Fern Productions that perfectly compliments the Radiolab episode Loops. Animated with delicate paper puppets and simple typography set to a backdrop of spirited music by Rachel’s.

  2. Moving Images: Hundred Waters

January 4, 2013 by Erin Fletcher

A bit of visual entertainment to bring you into the weekend. Another brilliant animation from Martin Allais for the song Hundred Waters by Thistle is scattered with elements reminiscent of Michel Gondry and Jan Švankmajer. Although the video is a bit macabre, the animation is clever and stunning.

December 14, 2012 by Erin Fletcher

I’m such a sucker for stop animation where everyday objects operate in a manner far from their normal routine. Sam Welch, also known as PES, does just this in his shorts and commercials. Enjoy Fresh Guacamole, his most recent short for the Showtime SHORT series. And you must promise to visit his site and watch all of his videos!

  8. Moving Images: Shift

August 26, 2012 by Jason Fletcher

I imagine that this is what robots dream of. Perhaps an eletric sheep is hidden somewhere…

  9. Moving Images: Pilot Evolution

August 5, 2012 by Jason Fletcher

I love animations that directly involve the animators hand. And its not only used as an effect but a concise visual metaphor.
