I love the whimsy and softness of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jodyerickson.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jody Alexander<\/a>&#8216;s portraits.<br \/>\n3. The textile and illustration work from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hannahwaldron.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hannah Waldron<\/a> is so gorgeous. She packs in so much imagery into her work with abstract shapes and luscious colors.<br \/>\n4. At the World&#8217;s Fair in Paris in 1900, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fastcodesign.com\/3068020\/web-dubois-was-a-master-of-the-hand-drawn-infographic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">W.E.B. Du Bois showcased a series of infographics<\/a> in &#8220;The Exhibit of American Negroes&#8221;. These graphs depict what life was like for African Americans across the US and within Georgia. W.E.B. Du Bois illustrated these charts himself collecting data with the help from students at Atlanta University. Jake Fried animates these mind-blowing illustrations made with ink and white-out. Check out <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/139169629\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Night Vision<\/em><\/a>.<br \/>\n7. Super Terrain, a publisher in France, has created a <a href=\"https:\/\/sploid.gizmodo.com\/this-special-edition-of-fahrenheit-451-can-only-be-read-1819648949\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">clever prototype of Ray Bradbury&#8217;s <em>Fahrenheit 451<\/em><\/a> that requires extreme heat to be read. The technology was developed by Charles Nypels Lab, when activated by heat the black material disappears, but eventually reappears hiding the text.<br \/>\n8. These bags from <a href=\"https:\/\/gravgrav.com\/collections\/wooden-purse-clutch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grav-Grav<\/a> are a gorgeous combination of wood and embroidery. Could be a great idea for a binding!<br \/>\n9. The illustration style of <a href=\"http:\/\/lisacongdon.com\/portfolio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lisa Congdon<\/a> is colorful and whimsical and a bit mystical, the best combination.<br \/>\n10. The <a href=\"https:\/\/hyperallergic.com\/354947\/the-first-known-printed-bookplate\/?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=The%20First%20Known%20Printed%20Bookplate&amp;utm_content=The%20First%20Known%20Printed%20Bookplate+CID_76dfd0f5675f16db5b88ae90de0906ac&amp;utm_source=HyperallergicNewsletter&amp;utm_term=Read%20More\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first known bookplate<\/a>\u00a0dates back to 1480 and was found in the personal collection of scholarly priest\u00a0Hilprand Brandenburg of Biberach.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.
