It puts a bit of humor into flash dating.<br \/>\n2.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/5daysofpreservation.tumblr.com\" target=\"_blank\">#5DaysOfPreservation<\/a> is a project by Kevin Driedger, who invited any institution or individual to post images over a 5 day period depicting preservation. Thus creating a catalog of images for a deeper understanding of the\u00a0variety of processes and skills involved.<br \/>\n3. <a href=\"http:\/\/rachelniffenegger.com\" target=\"_blank\">Rachel Niffeneger<\/a> is an extremely talented artist and one that I&#8217;m proud to have met during our undergraduate studies at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago. Some of her most recent work can be seen <a href=\"http:\/\/westernexhibitions.com\/niffenegger\/images.html\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>. Although her figures are gruesomely painted, Rachel&#8217;s use of pastel and bright colors creates a wonderful juxtaposition.<br \/>\n4. Massive yet delicate paper sculptures by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gentenaar-torley.nl\/index.php\/peter-gentenaar\" target=\"_blank\">Peter Gentenaar<\/a>.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">5.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.markunpoika.com\/Amalgamated\" target=\"_blank\">Amalgamated<\/a> is a collection of vases designed and constructed by <a href=\"http:\/\/markunpoika.com\" target=\"_blank\">Studio Markunpoika<\/a>. Book artist Jen Bervin found inspiration in the imitable Anni Albers. In <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jenbervin.com\/html\/new_works.html\" target=\"_blank\">Draft Notation<\/a><\/em>, Jen recreates weaving patterns through the use of a typewriter, which is commonly done by weavers and documented in Anni Albers&#8217;\u00a0<em>On Weaving<\/em>.<br \/>\n7. Breakbot&#8217;s music video for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6okxuiiHx2w\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Baby I&#8217;m Yours<\/em> featuring Irfane<\/a>, is a watercolor animation. Each frame is hand-painted one by one. I&#8217;m continuously amazed at the lengths people will go to create a unique music video.<br \/>\n8. So I&#8217;ve mentioned this video before, but it&#8217;s just too cool. Metal band Throne created an animated music video for their song <em><a href=\"http:\/\/motionographer.com\/2014\/06\/12\/qa-throne-tharsis-sleeps\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tharsis Sleeps<\/a><\/em>. Each frame was machine-embroidered and are up for sale through their website. This video was made possible through a successful Kickstarter campaign.<br \/>\n9. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2014\/07\/14\/arts\/design\/zine-makers-grab-their-metrocards-and-go-to-work.html?_r=1\" target=\"_blank\">MTA Zine Residency<\/a> organized a group of participants to ride the F train for hours, creating content for a zine that would be printed and published and later put up for sale. The organizers of the residency are a librarian and an archivist working at Barnard College library, which holds the largest collection of zines in an academic library.<br \/>\n10. Until a few months ago, <a href=\"http:\/\/lillicarre.com\" target=\"_blank\">Lilli Carr\u00e9<\/a>, existed in my mind as a talented graphic novelist. I&#8217;ve recently discovered that her talents\u00a0expand into a variety of\u00a0other mediums such as ceramics, film and illustration (outside the book format).
