Workshop // Pianel Binding

Description
Bindings constructed with metal rods at the joint have been around since the 18th century. Since then, several binders such as Edgard Claes, Alain Taral and Daniel Kelm have continued to explore this type of binding structure commonly referred to today as “piano hinges”. This version of the piano hinge binding was developed by Ben Elbel and attempts to create a more modern and sleek appearance to the exterior of the binding. Ben also constructed a different type of loop to create a better flow in how the book operates.

This workshop will be live instruction through Zoom. Open to students at any skill level, but please contact me if you have questions determining if this workshop is right for you.
