I was playing Sonic the Hedgehog recently and the graphics were terribly ancient looking yet so nostalgic. The work of Veronica Graham utilizes video game graphics to create wonderfully detail maps depicting various landscapes and territories.

Number 4 on my Life List is to embroider a self portrait, so you can image my excitement when I was introduced to the work of Cayce Zavaglia! Trained in painting, Cayce utilizes her background to embroider these painstakingly realistic portraits from wool and silk thread. Check out the video below to see her process.
