Course Library
Since 2012, Erin has been teaching bookbinding for a variety of institutions as both in-person and live online workshops. The Course Library brings the same level of focus on instruction with in-depth explanations on technique and best practices. With these pre-recorded courses, students can access guided instruction at any time and work at their own pace. When you register for a course you’ll have 6 months of access to videos, downloadable handouts and any additional content.
The Course Library will be routinely updated throughout the year, so make sure you’re signed up for the
newsletter to get notifications.
Non-Adhesive Binding Series
In this course, we’ll create the Link Stitch binding and explore two different covering styles. The Link Stitch is a multi-signature sewing pattern that has been documented on bindings as old as the 2nd century and is still in use.
In this course, we’ll create a Long Stitch binding in the style designed by the Library of Congress. The binding will be made with a soft paper cover and sewn in the distinct style with long threads running down the spine and around the ends.
