French-style fine binding with laced-in boards. Covered in scarlet goatskin. Cover design surface gilt in gold leaf with white suede inlays. Hand titled in gold. Edge-to-edge doublures in scarlet goatskin with surface gilt frame in gold and sunken white suede panels. Lokta fly leaves with screen-printed feather design and granite Cave Paper endsheets. Hand sewn headbands in polyester thread. Head edge has partial gilt edge with bird motifs in gold, motifs continue down fore edge turning into sprinkles which continue onto tail head, base layer of edges is titanium white gouache.
Book is housed in a rounded spine clamshell box covered with scarlet goatskin and lokta paper. Trays lined with hahnemuhle smoke ingres Hand titled in gold.

Artist Statement
Inspired by this collection of erotic short stories, I choose to cover the binding in a luscious red scarlet leather and soft white suede. The design of swallows comes from the motif used on each title page in the book.
